Wow. I can’t believe we’ve been on the field for a month and a half already. A part of me feels like we just got here but also like our first week was so long ago. My time here has been so sweet and I’m sad it’s come to an end. My team and I have been reflecting on our time here in Jaco over the last few days. The thing I keep coming back to is the people. The people I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know here have been full of love and intentionality. I’ve formed friendships with people that I know will last a long time.

Partnering with Oceans Edge has been such a blessing. They have poured into us in many ways during our time here. A couple of ways they have done so is through our morning devos and our mentor groups. Our morning devos were lead by Richard, a man from the local church, Horizon. He taught us how to battle spiritual warfare in everyday life and how to be warriors for the kingdom. Our mentor groups met once a week and were also led by people from Horizon. My teams mentor group was led by Bubble and Ana. They both go to Horizon and Bubble also helps run Oceans Edge. The time spent with my mentor group was definitely something I looked forward to each week. We answered and discussed questions that helped pull us deeper into knowing the father and understanding that His plan is much greater than our own.

I’m going to miss many people I’ve formed relationships with here in Jaco, but I know it doesn’t have to be a “goodbye”.

Jaco, thanks for the memories and for the season of growth. I’ve learn a lot during my time here and feel so blessed that I got to start my WR journey in a place that is being so transformed by the Father’s love. It may look like a dark place from the outside but on the inside God is MOVING. People are being changed. This city is being redeemed.
